The Ballet Theatre of Carmel Academy (BTCA) reopens its facilities soon, offering summer programs for all ages and levels of experience. “It’s a relief,” says Jane Hachiya-Weiner, co-Artistic Director of BTCA with her husband Frank Weiner.

“Our work as instructors—to notice the little tendencies, make evaluations, and provide feedback—has been a challenge watching our dancers on a screen,” says Hachiya-Weiner. “We all adapt, but the thing I treasure most is our community when we’re together. It’s irreplaceable.”

BTCA’s summer programs include themed camps for boys and girls age three to six. The different programs are offered throughout the summer and into August.

Older and more experienced dancers may choose the Junior and Senior Intensives. Junior classes are ages seven to eleven, while the Senior level covers ages twelve all the way through nineteen.

Open classes are also available. Information on Ballet Theatre of Carmel programs, as well as online registration, can be found at the school’s website BalletTheatreofCarmel.org.

“As eager as we are to get back to the studio, we insist all dancers follow specific guidelines when here,” Ms. Hachiya-Weiner says. “Some classes will continue to take place online, and some may alternate online and studio instruction until we reach a better comfort level and are cleared by state guidelines.” Full policies and procedures are on the studio website under the ‘About’ tab.

Summer programs start June 22nd and spots remain. See the website BalletTheatreofCarmel.org for details or to contact BTCA with any questions.

BTCA is a non-profit organization with dance studios on the north side of Indianapolis.
