Sarah Woolgar is a classically trained dancer in both ballet and modern dance. She was a dance student at Indiana University and University of Michigan, and later earned her dance degree from Butler University with a concentration in ballet and modern dance pedagogy. She has spent her professional career focused on teaching and has been on faculty at Butler University, Jordan Academy of Dance, Ballet Internationale, Russian Ballet Academy of Indiana, and Performer’s Edge Dance.

Sarah taught at Ballet Theatre of Carmel at Performer’s Edge from 1993-1998, and after a hiatus, returned to the Ballet Theatre of Carmel in 2011. She currently teaches Ballet Technique classes for Elementary through Advanced level dancers. She has also served as one of the studio’s Soloist Initiative coaches, training numerous students to compete in the Youth America Grand Prix regional semi-finals.

Sarah is certified in the American Ballet Theater® National Training Curriculum, Pilates, Neuroplastic Suspension Movement Education, Bones for Life (a Feldenkrais practice), Integrated Listening Therapy, and Grounded Aerial® Bungee. Sarah is a student of Positional-Release Therapy, The Feldenkrais Method, and other somatic movement arts.
