BTCA’s Safety Commitment

Although we have reached a new and happy era allowing us more freedom, BTCA remains singularly committed to keeping our studios and rehearsal spaces as safe and sanitary as possible.

  • Surfaces will continue to be cleaned regularly with disinfectants and isopropyl alcohol.
  • Social distancing rules in the studios have been relaxed, but robust ventilation (open windows and fans) will be maintained.
  • Bathrooms are sanitized by staff members regularly.  Proper handwashing guidelines are posted at each bathroom.
  • Hand sanitizers are provided for use at the studio. Dancers are also encouraged to bring their own hand sanitizer.
  • A thermometer is available at the front desk for the rare case where it might be necessary.
  • All BTCA faculty and staff are fully vaccinated.  As such, faculty and staff mask use is voluntary and not a requirement.
Dancer’s Role in COVID-19/Other Illness Risk Minimization
  • Dancers should practice proper social distancing whenever possible, especially during breaks when dancers are congregated. This will not only help limit COVID-19 transmissions, but also flu/cold etc..
  • Mask use by fully vaccinated dancers is now voluntary.
  • Dancers who are unvaccinated are strongly encouraged to continue wearing masks for their own protection.
  • There are indoor and outdoor spaces for breaks/meals – follow the signs and instructions at the studios.   Food/snacks should be labeled and kept in dance bags or the fridge. Single serving items (protein bars, sandwiches, fruit etc.) are recommended – nothing that requires elaborate preparation.
  • Dancers must wash their hands before and after class and before eating.
Important!! In Case of COVID-19 Symptoms/Diagnosis
  • If COVID-19 is identified or presumed in a dancer’s family or a close contact, that dancer should seek testing and wear a mask even if vaccinated. The dancer is encouraged to attend class via Zoom.
  • If a dancer is experiencing fever along with symptoms identified as potential COVID-19 symptoms, that person should seek COVID-19 testing and stay home until they have been fever-free for 24 hours.
  • If a dancer is mildly ill with allergies/cold etc. that person is encouraged to wear a mask when at the studio.
  • All dancers must be fever-free, without the use of fever reducing medication, for 24 hours before returning to classes after any illness. In the case of recovery from an actual COVID-19 illness, dancers may not return to the studio until they receive two negative COVID-19 tests or a doctor’s note indicating that they are safe to return.
