Nicole Popovich began dancing at the age of 5 at the Judith Svalander School of Ballet in Crystal Lake, Illinois. She went on to study at Ball State University and received her BFA in dance in 2017.
Nicole has been on staff with Ballet Theatre of Carmel Academy since 2017. She teaches Preschool through Level 2B ballet classes and serves as Lower School Cast Coordinator and Rehearsal Associate to prepare our youngest dancers for performances. Nicole also teaches Jazz and Contemporary classes and is a member of the Summer Camps faculty.
In addition to her rewarding role as a dance teacher, Nicole also choreographs and performs professionally as an independent artist and with companies including Crossroads Dance Indy, Elisha Movement, and Q Artistry.
Nicole is also an American Ballet Theatre® National Training Curriculum certified teacher for Pre-Primary through Level 3, and is certified by Dancing Wheels Company to teach mixed abilities dance. She is also a certified Pilates instructor and teaches Pilates at Sarah Woolgar Movement – a studio owned by fellow BTCA faculty member Sarah Woolgar.
