Indiana Arts Commission

Ballet Theatre of Carmel Academy (BTCA) is thrilled to announce the awarding of a grant from the Indiana Arts Commission. The grant was part of a National Endowment for the Arts program through the American Rescue Plan Act.

“The grant process is very involved,” says Jane Hachiya-Weiner, Co-Artistic Director of the BTCA. “This is a tremendous boost to what we’re doing, and our thanks go to everyone who was a part of this effort.”

“This puts a positive note on the unanticipated challenges of the past fifteen months,” says Hachiya-Weiner. “Of course, our dancers remained as dedicated as ever. They’re a bright light.”
The grant helps the BTCA continue to advance student instruction and remain true to the commitment of providing every student the means to meet and surpass their goals. Central to BTCA’s mission is the nurturing of dancers to higher achievement, confidence, and self-esteem.

BTCA students are already working hard on their next production. “We love performing. It’s a reward, for certain, and a way to feature how far everyone has come,” says Hachiya-Weiner. The academy next performs The Nutcracker, December 18 and 19 at Star Bank Performing Arts Center, Zionsville.

BTCA activities are made possible in part by the Indiana Arts Commission and Arts Midwest through American Rescue Plan Act funds from the National Endowment for the Arts.
BTCA is a non-profit organization with dance studios on the north side of Indianapolis.
